Material Planner

Job Summary

Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient procurement, scheduling, and availability of materials required for production and operations. This role involves collaborating closely with suppliers, production teams, and procurement departments to forecast material needs, manage inventory levels, and coordinate deliveries to meet production schedules. The Material Planner will also monitor supply chain performance, resolve any material shortages or delays, and ensure optimal stock levels to minimize costs and avoid disruptions in the production process.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned parts using ERP systems.
• Monitor weekly shipments, track all required deliverables are on track to get to packaging as scheduled, mitigate issues to ensure production lines are achieving 100% on time delivery.
• Identify critical material deliveries and ensure program requirements are prioritized though the supply chain as well as internal effort.
• Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree or equivalent with minimum 2 years experience in production / material planning.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise. Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment a plus.
