The QA/QC Lead Auditor is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and control are maintained across the organization, in line with ISO 9001:2015, API Spec Q2, and other relevant standards. This role involves leading audits, managing non-conformance reports (NCRs), and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Management System. The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks.

Job responsibilities

  • Audit Leadership: Plan, conduct, and lead internal and external audits according to ISO 9001:2015 and API Spec Q2 standards. Develop audit schedules, prepare audit plans, and ensure the effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • QMS Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the QHSE management system, ensuring it meets industry-specific requirements like ISO 9001, 29001 and API Q2, which are critical for service providers in the oil and gas sector. Develop and implement quality assurance and compliance programs to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies across all operations within the region.
  • NCR Management: Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process, including conduct investigations into equipment and process failures, identifying root causes and implementing correction and corrective actions, and verifying the effectiveness of these actions. Ensure that investigations are thoroughly documented and that all findings are communicated both internally and externally. Regularly report NCR trends and findings to management during review meetings.
  • Lessons Learned and Reporting: Compile and disseminate lessons learned from audits, NCRs, and other quality-related activities. Ensure that these lessons are incorporated into training programs, operational procedures, and management review documents to prevent recurrence of issues and promote continuous improvement.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance: Conduct supplier qualification audit and annual assessments to ensure they meet the required quality standards. Manage the quality performance of suppliers through regular reviews and audits, ensuring compliance with both company and client specifications. Coordinate all quality assurance efforts during the procurement of services, manufacturing, delivery, and installation of tangible goods. Establish quality requirements for vendors.
  • Documentation and Data Management: Ensure robust documentation and data management practices are in place, including maintaining records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Utilize data analytics tools to transform these records into performance metrics that inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Training and Development: Lead the development and delivery of training programs for internal auditors and quality personnel to enhance their competencies in ISO, API, and other relevant quality standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the organization.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting and Investigation: Conduct investigations into equipment and process failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Ensure that investigations are thoroughly documented and that all findings are communicated both internally and externally. This involves:
  • Tendering and Contracts: Support and input to tendering process, reviewing customer contract scope of work, quality specifications, technical specifications & compliances, and support to the development of local budgets. Leading and develop client specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) & Service Quality Plan (SQP) including preparing and follow-up with 3rd party inspector. Facilitate Pre-production meetings and support quality control activities according to relevant QCP/SQP.

Job requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Auditor Certification (Mandatory)
  • API Spec Q2 Auditor Certification (Highly desirable)
  • ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certifications (Preferred)
  • At least 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on upstream services.
  • Proven track record in managing quality audits and NCRs, and in driving QHSE initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific quality standards, including ISO 9001, API Spec Q2, and ISO 29001.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex quality issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in QMS software, data analytics tools like Power BI, and standard IT applications.
