Work Location: Sapangar Bay Container Port, Sabah
Responsible for the overall formulation and implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) management system. Ensures and monitors compliance in all aspects of HSSE legislation, regulations and associated standards. Establish enhanced HSSE culture in the workplace in compliance with DP World group policies, programs and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Formulates and implements the HSSE management systems in compliance with DP World group policy, standards and guidelines, regional programs, local rules and regulations and international standards.
- Ensures that all HSSE legal requirements needed by the Company are being implemented. Liaises with government and non-government organizations in relation to various HSSE programs/activities. ensure that personnel are kept aware of new rules and regulations inclusive of industry initiatives.
- Provides technical advice and assistance to management and operations personnel on matters relating to HSSE.
- Reviews all incidents within Company premises and conducts incident investigations as required; ensures that all incidents are reported and evaluated. Prepares analysis of incidents, statistics and other studies to eliminate or reduce risk, prevent recurrence, improve health and working condition of employees and increases environmental awareness.
- Advise and monitor hazards or potential hazards that may exist in the workplace; coordinates and recommends with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety program.
- Identifying training needs. and develop programmes for continuous improvement.
- Recommend and establish effective behavioural change programs and interventions.
- Conducts regular internal HSSE audits to ensure continued compliance with the HSSE policies and procedures and local regulations and standards; conducts HSSE inspections of operational areas.
- Prepares and reviews regular HSSE reports for management and local authorities / stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in HSSE or equivalent qualification in related HSSE field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSSE management within a Ports & Terminal Environment
- Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 28 000 and associated certification processes
- Proficient in English and written communication
- Experience in the launch of new business and leading growth initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with all groups and levels within the organization
- Experience in working in any of security compliance framework (TAPA, CTPAT etc.)
