JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the Sourcing Category Manager in developing sourcing strategies for the respective sub-category, designing and conducting competitive bids, negotiations, and contracting for indirect materials and services to reduce costs, meet ROI targets, leverage spend, and optimise supply base to deliver productivity savings and cost avoidance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in the development of a sourcing & negotiation strategy, project plan, stakeholder engagement plan and benefits plan for the respective sub-category.
  • Produce sourcing documents, tender reports, contracts and vendor performance reports.
  • Support in conducting market analysis and recommending short & long term sourcing strategies with defined risk/ benefit analysis and mitigation strategies, maintaining a high level of product and industry awareness.
  • Report the utilisation of the agreed contracts and approved purchasing channels.
  • Support in implementing and monitor operation of new contracts, purchasing agreements through approved purchasing channels for the focus categories.
  • Contribute to contract management documentation and preparation of new contract execution.
  • Perform other duties in related fields as assigned by Sourcing/ Category Manager and Executive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Pass Malay Language including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
  • Possess a Bachelors’ Degree in any related area or other related qualification which is recognized by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.
  • Must have no more than two (2) years of relevant experience; however, fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrate a forward-thinking approach and embraces continuous improvement in procurement practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and contract management.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Have good oral and written communication skills in Malay and English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
