They are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer experienced in plastic injection molding tooling to enhance their tooling capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of plastic injection molds used to produce high-quality plastic parts.
  • Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of molds using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize mold designs for manufacturability, ensuring efficiency in the injection molding process.
  • Review and improve existing mold designs to enhance cycle time, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality.
  • Conduct mold flow analysis and other simulations to predict and prevent molding defects such as warping, sink marks, or voids.
  • Work with resin suppliers to ensure the correct material is selected for the tooling application.
  • Oversee mold fabrication, assembly, and testing to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior design engineers in the tooling department.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Design, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding tooling design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar for mold design.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling materials, and various types of resin.
  • Experience with mold flow analysis tools to predict molding behavior and optimize designs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and improve mold performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
