Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in setting up, configuring, and administrating environments involving *Kubernetes* and *Kafka*. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of containerized applications, and administrating distributed data streaming platforms. This role requires a deep technical understanding of Linux systems and an ability to automate and optimize processes across large-scale distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, set up, and administer - Linux environments supporting Kubernetes and Kafka.
- Configure, deploy, and manage]- Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and security for containerized applications.
- Set up, manage, and optimize Kafka clusters for efficient data streaming and event processing.
- Administer and maintain production environments, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or other scripting languages.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure the visibility of Kubernetes and Kafka infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues across Linux, Kubernetes, and Kafka, ensuring root cause analysis and resolution.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to ensure the infrastructure supports continuous delivery and development pipelines.
- Develop and maintain system and application-level documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, including network security, firewall management, and access controls across the infrastructure.
- Perform routine audits of systems and software and apply necessary updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Requirements:
- *3-5+ years of experience* as a Linux Engineer or System Administrator.
- Extensive hands-on experience with *Kubernetes* setup, configuration, and management.
- Expertise in *Kafka administration*, including deploying, tuning, and monitoring Kafka clusters.
- Proficiency with *Linux operating systems* (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and strong *shell scripting* knowledge.
- Experience with *infrastructure automation tools* such as *Ansible, **Terraform, or **Puppet*.
- Strong understanding of *networking* (DNS, load balancing, VPNs, firewalls) and *security best practices*.
- Experience with *CI/CD pipelines* and integration of Kubernetes and Kafka into development workflows.
- Proficiency in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure using tools like *Prometheus, **Grafana, or **ELK Stack*.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud solutions.
