About the role

You will play a crucial role in developing and managing relationships with new, existing, and prospective content partners. You will be responsible for creating strategic partnerships that align with our company's objectives, facilitating joint business planning, and driving the growth of our content portfolio. You will also act as a liaison between partners and internal teams to ensure effective communication and execution of partnership agreements.

In addition, you will also provide legal and commercial support for assigned businesses and functions, handling legal processes, developing company policies, and safeguarding against legal risks.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and support the negotiation and review process for partner contracts, ensuring the company extracts the most out of the relationships
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new, existing, and prospective content partners
  • Facilitate regular joint business planning sessions with partners to align goals and strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Finance, Commercial, and Delivery to ensure smooth agreement establishment, management, and administration
  • Develop and implement business metrics to track and communicate the performance and success of content partnerships
  • Stay informed about market trends and developments in the Malaysian Learning and Development industry
  • Legal compliance and risk management - assessing legal risks relating to operations and strategic decisions
  • Development of effective compliance risk mitigation strategies, such as processes and controls to eliminate or mitigate identified compliance risks
  • Provide legal support and represent in commercial, legal and regulatory matters involving government agencies for all legal entities

The ideal candidate

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in law
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in law or partnerships management, business development, or a similar role
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting and identifying/implementing resource savings
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for the opportunity to play a leading role and contribute to an organisation with a startup-like culture
  • Effective and compelling communicator, both in person and through various mediums
  • Fluency in English and Malay
  • Clear and concise expression of ideas, both orally and in writing
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing partnership agreements
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian Learning & Development market or experience in Ed Tech industry is a plus
