- Develop and maintain group investment strategies/ policies that align with group financial goals, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives
- Oversee and ensure the implementation of the strategies/ policy as a guidance for investment evaluation and decisions throughout the Group
- Lead the effort of identifying new business opportunities that align with group overall business strategy, including socially-responsible investments aligned to group ESG goals
- Oversee and ensure thorough due diligence / feasibility study and review of potential investment opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships are duly conducted
- Ensure that the financial health, performance, and strategic fit of target companies are properly evaluated to enable informed decision-making
- Stay informed about financial markets, industry trends, and emerging investment opportunities
- Lead the effort of managing and enhancing group investment portfolio including asset allocation, diversification, and risk management
- Oversee the monitoring and tracking of portfolio performance, including leading the establishment of key performance criteria and benchmarks to assess investment performance of all asset classes
- Make decisions on tactical adjustments to the portfolio in response to changing market conditions and portfolio performance, with the aim of optimizing return and mitigating risks
- Manage and exercise board representation to drive performance, improve governance and enhance shareholder value at investee companies
- Monitor and report on the performance of the investment portfolio to senior management and the Board of Directors where required
- Oversee the management and administration of the Investment Division, including preparation of division’s operating plan, budgeting, manpower and other administrative matters
- Ensure that all investment activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements
- Lead strategic partnerships and relationship-building with relevant external stakeholders for key strategic collaborations, including which includes the Government, Ministries, Agencies, Government-Linked Companies and Investee Companies
- Represent the group in any external investment-related discussions and negotiations where required
- Manage and lead the investment division, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the division
- Maintain accountability for the investment function’s performance and alignment with group strategic objectives
- 8 to 15 years in the Government and / or Investment sector in a strategy and / or business development role
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
- MBA or CFA designation is highly desirable
