About The Role

  • Our client is looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, controllership and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
  • Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management and audit. The role reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the finance team, ensuring effective collaboration with other departments.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, forecasting, and budgeting processes to support business objectives and optimizing service delivery.
  • Manage the operations of the shared services centre, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of financial services.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management and working capital optimization.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s financial health and stability.
  • Lead or participate in finance transformation initiatives to enhance processes, systems, and capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and cost savings.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior management in developing long-term financial plans and strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of progressive finance experience, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
  • Prior financial modelling experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with at least 5 years of team management experience.
  • Experience managing shared services centres and implementing process improvements. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and public speaking abilities.
  • Exemplary precision in attention to detail, coupled with highly developed organizational and strategic planning abilities.
  • Hands-on approach with operations to achieve business excellence.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial software, and business intelligence tools.
  • Upholds strong integrity and honesty.
