We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Investment Analyst & Portfolio Associate.

In this role, you will play an integral part in supporting the nurturing and value creation of our portfolio companies across key areas, including financial, operational, strategic, and governance monitoring. Additionally, you will assist in ensuring accurate and timely reporting, portfolio management, and providing valuable insights into performance to support investment decision-making.

The role also involves working closely with the Investment Partner in terms of conducting market research and analysis as well as preparation of reports of investment trends and/or sectors, including providing ideas to the Investment Partner / team.

Responsibilities:

1- Market Research and Industry Data Analysis:

  • Track industry developments, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that impact the private markets.
  • Monitor market trends and identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from large datasets and identify trends.
  • Develop and maintain market research models / analytical databases for the purposes of trend analysis
  • Assist the Investment Partner with the preparation of research/reports on new trends and the potential opportunities and risks.
  • Participate in idea contribution and generation in relation to determining market research ideas.

2- Portfolio Value Creation:

  • Support in developing and executing value creation strategies to bolster the success and growth trajectory of our portfolio companies.
  • Contribute insights on portfolio performance, opportunities, and risks during internal meetings and discussions.
  • Engage with portfolio company management to facilitate communication, gather data, and address operational and strategic hurdles.
  • Track portfolio companies' financial milestones, performance goals, and compliance with financial covenants
  • Monitor market and industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes affecting portfolio companies.
  • Participate in evaluating potential investment opportunities, analysis, research and financial modelling where relevant.

3- Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing comprehensive, precise and insightful regular monthly portfolio reports on portfolio companies' financial statements, performance updates, and key metrics.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide accurate and timely reporting of portfolio updates.
  • Support the team to enhance portfolio sustainability and governance implementation.

4- Process refinement:

  • Play a role in refining processes, tools, and methodologies for improved market research analysis and portfolio monitoring.

5- Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with investment professionals, analysts, and other teams to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Provide support during investment evaluations, portfolio company reviews and ad hoc requests.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with portfolio companies, other teams, or Group such as legal, finance, and operations teams to support portfolio management initiatives.

6- Carry out any other duties as instructed by the Management from time to time.

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma in Finance / Accounting OR Degree in Finance / Accounting / Science / Mathematical related fields.

Minimum of 5 years working experience in market research* as well as corporate planning/strategy, consulting or in any M&A or corporate finance roles and possess the following:

  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques and risk assessment
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth research and analysis with ability to derive insights on trends as well as have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and its tools (e.g. MS Excel)
  • Proficient in preparation of presentation materials in a concise yet meaningful manner
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently given a certain set of instructions, in addition to being able to provide recommendations to his/her supervisor
  • Knowledge of private market investment and exit strategies and valuation trends.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic yet collaborative environment and is comfortable multi-tasking.
