Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Engineer with a civil engineering background to oversee and manage property development projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction and be capable of coordinating all aspects of the project, including dealing with contractors, ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Oversee the entire project development process, ensuring that all activities align with the project's goals, timelines, and budget.
  • Project Management: Manage all phases of construction, including planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring progress to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
  • Contractor Management: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that they meet project specifications and standards. Address any issues that arise on-site and resolve them effectively.
  • Site Supervision: Regularly visit construction sites to monitor progress, assess workmanship, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and address any technical or logistical challenges.
  • Technical Support: Provide engineering support and technical guidance to the construction team, ensuring that design and construction adhere to engineering standards and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that construction works comply with relevant codes, standards, and specifications, and that quality control measures are implemented and maintained.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Assist in managing project budgets, monitoring expenses, and controlling costs to prevent budget overruns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including progress reports, site records, and contract administration.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met and that any design or technical changes are properly implemented.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any on-site issues or challenges promptly, finding solutions that maintain project momentum and quality.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional certification or licensure in engineering (e.g., PE) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction and project management, with a strong background in property development.
  • Construction Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards, particularly within the property development sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with construction safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
