Financial Controller

Responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, effective financial planning, and safeguarding the company’s assets. This role involves managing the finance team, preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial reports to stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain a strong control environment and drive initiatives to enhance cash generation and liquidity management.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial close activities.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial transactions.
• Drive resolution of complex financial issues by collaborating cross-functionally to address root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their financial requirements and challenges, fostering strong relationships for effective collaboration and communication.
• Provide timely financial expertise and insightful analysis for Group financials. Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards, particularly in financial reporting & controls accordance to MMLR (Main Market Listing Requirements).
• Identify and implement opportunities for process standardization and efficiency improvements, deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary for statutory reporting.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the audit process and address any findings or recommendations.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting, and/or Professionally Qualified (ACCA I CPA! ICAEW)
• Big 4 external audit background will be an advantage
• Expertise in management reporting, project budgeting, project monitoring, project cost, cash flow management, statutory reporting, internal controls, business controlling, taxation and etc
• Prior experience in implementation of Shared Service environment and new system rollout
