Job Description

  • Developing and maintaining the O&M budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations.
  • Planning and coordinating O&M activities, procedures and protocols related to the facility, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades to ensure consistent and efficient operation of the solar plant.
  • Managing vendors and contractors to ensure that O&M activities are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Providing guidance, training, and direction to subordinates to ensure that they are able to effectively execute their duties.
  • Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system output.
  • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance activities to ensure compliance with manufacturer warranties and performance guarantees.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including internal departments, external agencies, and service providers, to coordinate O&M activities and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on system performance, maintenance activities, and budget expenditures for management review.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the operation and maintenance of the solar power plant.
  • Conduct periodic checks on the high and medium voltage equipment.
  • Ability to detect, diagnose and attend to faults in power systems and corresponding hardware.
  • Carry out switching on the high and medium voltage side in coordination with the network system controller.
  • Available at the Facility within 4 hours of an outage event.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
  • Candidates who have passed SEDA’s Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (PV) System Course for Wireman and Chargeman and / or Solar PV Installation and Maintenance courses will have added advantage.
  • At least 3 years working experience in operation, maintenance and management of a large-scale solar facility.
