Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Manager at KPJ Healthcare University in Nilai. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. They will also work closely with other departments to ensure financial compliance and provide strategic financial guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management. Monitor budget performance and prepare regular reports for review.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for financial performance to senior management.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow and forecasting to ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Financial Operations and Controls: Establish and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard university assets. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow management.
  • Audit Preparation and Compliance: Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Financial Guidance: Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and department heads. Support decision-making through financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Grants and Funding: Oversee financial aspects of grants and funding opportunities, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Optimize financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance department staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Professional Certificate or MIA membership
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Proficient in communication, integrity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Expert in technical knowledge, reporting, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the education business or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
