- Conduct site investigations to collect soil, rock, and groundwater samples and perform in-situ tests.
- Analyze soil and rock samples, perform laboratory testing, and evaluate geotechnical data to determine properties such as shear strength, compressibility, permeability, and bearing capacity.
- Design and recommend foundation systems, including shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and other earth-retaining structures.
- Perform slope stability analyses and develop appropriate stabilization measures for embankments, slopes, and excavation sites.
- Evaluate the effects of seismic activity, groundwater flow, and soil liquefaction on site conditions and structural stability.
- Propose ground improvement methods, such as soil stabilization, grouting, or compaction, to enhance soil performance and reduce settlement risks.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including site investigation findings, analyses, design recommendations, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate geotechnical designs into project plans.
- Monitor geotechnical aspects of construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Stay updated on industry standards, new technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
- Ensure all designs and recommendations comply with local, national, and international building codes and environmental regulations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slope/W, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting site investigations, soil testing, and geotechnical analysis.
- Knowledge of foundation design, slope stability, soil mechanics, and ground improvement techniques.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local, national, and international geotechnical standards and regulations.
