Role Summary
The Data & Digital Officer consists of two scopes combined – the Digital Officer and Data Scientist.
Job Responsibilities
Digital Strategy/Transformational Projects Execution
Execute and deliver elements of the digital road map, leveraging agile and design-thinking principles to drive sustainable implementation.
Project Planning
Produce workstream or project plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project management framework.
Requirements Management
Plan and coordinate the identification and elicitation of requirements; conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment; document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project; and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the project level.
Project Team Management
Lead a small project team; communicate the necessary outcomes and the direction required to achieve them; coordinate team actions on project tasks; request additional team member support when needed; and identify areas of improvement to build the capability of the team through training, coaching, and mentoring.
Stakeholder Management
Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective working relationships for projects and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.
Project Risk and Issue Management
Identify and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating matters where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these concerns.
Culture of Innovation
Support a culture of innovation by contributing to solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
Agile Backlog Management
Review the backlog of work for a small project and reprioritize the work and deployment of project resources to reduce costs and increase the value of the work delivered to the business.
Agile Release Planning
Plan and replan software releases for small projects as they are produced to ensure timely updates and to deliver the planned benefits as early as possible in the project.
Project Reporting and Review
Draft project review reports and presentations, including key information, commentary, and recommendations, to support the review process and enable stakeholders to evaluate progress and agree on change.
Project Resource Management
Carry out delegated activities to support the deployment and effective utilization of project resources.
Education
The Data & Digital Officer consists of two scopes combined – the Digital Officer and Data Scientist.
- The qualification of a Data Scientist: Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI and Data Modelling. Experienced in Data Science with the strong focus on Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics.
- The scope of the Data Scientist: Data Analysis, Power BI Development, Data Management.
