Job Description

  • As an Associate Consultant (Functional Safety), your primary role will be to consult, design, implement, and maintain Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) for our clients.
  • Requires close collaboration with engineering teams and clients to develop solutions that ensure the safety and integrity of their operations.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, with a focus on SIS engineering.
  • Safety System Engineering: Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) principles and industry standards, such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and ISA 84.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and end-users. Strong documentation skills are required to create clear and concise technical reports and guidelines.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, and maintain a proactive attitude. Willingness to learn and explore new technologies and methodologies is highly valued.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in control systems, such as ladder logic, Function Block Diagrams (FBD), and Structured Text (ST), is considered a plus.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of professional certifications such as TUV or ISA84 SIS is an advantage.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participating in the development of Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS).
  • Contributing to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) verification.
  • Collaborating in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives.
  • Contributing to the development of system functional test procedures.
  • Attending field verification and user requirements gathering walk-downs.
  • Executing factory acceptance testing.
  • Participating in field commissioning, validation and startup.
  • Having the opportunity to be involved in control system engineering and programming.
