Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee routine module design and collaborate with technical teams to ensure that circuit and process requirements are clearly defined and integrated into the board design.
  2. Conduct design reviews to minimize errors and apply expertise at key stages of the stage-gate PCB design process, while documenting the electronic requirements for optical module designs and platforms.
  3. Evaluate and review design projects from other engineers using a standard checklist, and provide constructive feedback focused on manufacturing, cost considerations, and design optimization.
  4. Review and validate layout designs according to the checklist for other team members.
  5. Work closely with PCB suppliers to ensure the feasibility of PCB/Flex designs and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments for special cases.
  6. Understand PCB manufacturing capabilities, compile engineering queries, and collaborate with DFM engineers to develop and refine Finisar design specifications.

Skills & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of experience with PCB post-processing tools such as CAM350, AutoCAD, and Blueprint.
  3. Proficiency with Mentor PADS, Cadence, Allegro, CAM350, AutoCAD, and Blueprint.
  4. Knowledgeable in RF, mixed-signal circuits, HDI, and IPC standards for PCBs and PCBA.
  5. Highly organized, decisive, and dependable.
  6. Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  7. Proficient in both written and spoken English.
