Summary of role :

This role oversees the management of instrumentation and automation systems for a large-scale Air Separation plant, which produces oxygen, nitrogen, and argon products in both gaseous and liquid forms for our customer base.

Job scope :

  • Ensure equipment reliability and safety through effective maintenance and reliability management of instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Promote a safe work culture and demonstrate a safe working mindset, leading by example for staff and contractors.
  • Execute and lead maintenance tasks for various equipment, including:
  • Field transmitters
  • Control valves
  • Product analysers (LIN/LOX/LAR)
  • Total hydrocarbon analysers
  • Local PLC and DCS hardware and network components
  • Product metering
  • Plant alarm
  • Communication and CCTV systems
  • Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) to plan, execute, and close work orders for PM and CM.
  • Familiarity with DCS systems (e.g., Hollysys, Supcon, Yokogawa, Siemens PCS7, Honeywell).
  • Practical experience in:
  • Field instrument calibration and installation
  • Loop checks
  • Control valve maintenance and installation
  • Analyser configuration and testing
  • PLC & DCS troubleshooting
  • Basic PLC programming
  • Network testing
  • Familiarity with compressor controls and basic process controls.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and production teams during daily morning meetings to ensure safe and timely maintenance works.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, maintenance manuals, and work procedures, and provide technical training to staff.
  • Custodian of instrument measurement tools (e.g., multimeter, signal generators, field calibrator).
  • Periodically review spares, set up material numbers in CMMS, and review/update sparing strategies and plans for replacing obsolete parts.
  • Propose OPEX and CAPEX budgetary proposals for projects, major maintenance, and yearly budget planning.
  • Stay updated on cybersecurity developments, digital tools, and the latest advancements in instrumentation and automation systems.

Requirements :

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Engineering is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls, preferably in the industrial gas, petrochemical, or oleochemical industries.
  • Knowledge of ISA and IEC standards is essential.
  • Familiarity with ASU (Air Separation Unit) operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with SAP system maintenance module is a plus.
