JR52139 Manager, Financial Accounting (AP)

This a challenging role in a fast paced, multinational environment. We are seeking a leader with a broad range of finance experience who can grow and develop corporate and international finance functions at Micron in Penang.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Financial Accounting, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise functional financial accounting activities mainly on Accounts Payable including reviewing journal entries and reporting
  • Responsible for internal and external stakeholders’ vendor invoicing and payment enquiries
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation and providing recommendations, as appropriate
  • Identify and highlight any risks/fraud and mitigate with proper controls and solutions
  • Lead and drive process improvement, automation, and standardization and other assigned projects/tasks
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to resolve challenges and recommend solutions, improvement where necessary
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships
  • Establish plans and objectives for the functional group and at organization level for Global Finance Center of Excellence

Key Skills/Competencies

  • Experience in expanding a center of excellence is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and local country accounting standards
  • Strong team-player with experience working in a dynamic organization and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders
  • Strong communication, influencing skills including ability to step up in challenging status quo when necessary
  • Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of business principles and practices
  • Ability to manage change sensitively and in a collaborative manner
  • Ability to attract, develop and retain outstanding talent
  • Proven track record of team development, process efficiency, quality improvement and innovating finance workloads
  • Ability to succinctly explain financial matters to non-finance personnel
  • Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal & external customers, including Audit/Statutory engagement
  • Demonstrate agility and flexibility to maneuver ad hoc tasks/projects/challenges
  • Japanese or other foreign language skill set will be added advantage

Education & Experience Required

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA), Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • >10+ years of experience in finance, accounting and reporting; high-tech industry
  • >8+ years in leadership role
  • Experience in Ariba, SAP, automation projects, LEAN, 6-Sigma or RPA, preferred
