Responsibilities:
Architect and implement solutions that structure medical data efficiently.
Develop and fine-tune deep learning models, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), for the medical domain.
Collaborate with other team members as well as healthcare professionals to understand their needs, translate them into technical requirements and evaluate feasibility of solutions.
Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies from the domain of AI, machine learning and NLP.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
Communicate complex technical details in an understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Adhere to ethical AI practices and data privacy regulations.
Gain understanding of medical terminologies and clinical data models.
Qualifications:
5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on NLP and machine learning
Proficiency in Python with experience using key Python packages for data wrangling, machine learning and deep learning such as pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow, torch, transformers, LangChain, Huggingface, AutoGen etc.
Experience with deep learning models, especially Large Language Models, including fine-tuning, RAG, function calling, implementation and optimization of models like GPT-4, BERT, LLaMA etc.
Strong experience working with machine learning and natural language processing techniques and tools.
Professional experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Ability to drive a project and work both independently and within a cross-functional team.
Additional:
Hands-on experience working with standard medical terminologies like SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm
Hands-on experience with clinical data models and using NLP to explore EHR records
Experience in Prompt Engineering and few-shot techniques to enhance LLM's performance on specific tasks.
Understanding of deep learning model classes such as GPT, VAE, and GANs.
Experience with OCR and understanding of its application in document analysis and recognition
Experience with AWS Cloud Services, specifically related to machine learning (SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Lex, Textract, etc.).
M.Sc. or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent degree
