Job Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing guidance on best practices, code quality, and architectural decisions for insurance applications.
Application Development: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of general/life insurance applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to industry standards.
Architecture and Design: Develop and refine technical architecture for insurance systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security. Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance application capabilities.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver on project objectives.
Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and implement testing strategies to ensure high-quality software. Address technical debt and optimize performance.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables. Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for technical specifications, system designs, and development processes.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues. Collaborate with support teams to resolve complex problems.
Compliance and Security: Ensure applications comply with industry regulations and security standards, including data protection and privacy requirements specific to the insurance sector.
Job Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. Experience with general insurance applications is highly preferred.Bachelor’s Degree.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in insurance applications (e.g., Java, .NET, Python).
Experience with insurance industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and integration technologies.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience with deployment and monitoring tools.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
