Role Purpose:
- To sustain, improve and provide solutions in Supplier Quality Function.
- Responsible for the maintenance, control and quality performance of all Spirit Suppliers from a quality perspective, through the deployment of supplier reviews, regular recorded communications, and surveillance activities.
- Field support to ensure all supplier non-conformities are reviewed and, where necessary, escalated using the appropriate Spirit processes to drive robust Root Cause Corrective Action and get-well/improvement plans.
- Maintain a supplier audit schedule to satisfy the requirements of AS9100 and all customer and regulatory requirements.
- Drive towards improved supplier quality performance through the creation of metrics for key processes and agreed targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the SQ Team in supplier quality activities.
- Lead / Coordinate the Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) of problem solving by implementing 8D report, 7 QC Tools and Why-why analysis.
- To actively review and develop suppliers manufacturing processes, ensuring they are maintained within “control” limits and product quality is achieved.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier product quality, efficiency of quality techniques and customer satisfaction.
- Investigation and coordination of introduction of new Global quality system toolsets
- Assist in the deployment of the Quality Policy to reflect the Spirit Global Strategy and regulatory requirements. Prepare related supplier quality procedures
- Project management of supplier qualification activities and support APQP on supplier KBD
- Planning and allocating audit resource. Conducting Quality Assurance audits of the supply chain
- Provide specialist supplier quality support to other functions across the company
- Liaise with external parties (customer, third party auditors, etc.) on supplier quality approvals.
- Liaise with customer on quality issues and customer complaints.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical or any Discipline in Engineering or Science Engineering preferably in Quality environment
- 5 to 7 years of working experience in relevant fields
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems. ISO 9100 and/or AS 9100 or equivalent standard
- Be qualified in Quality or related Engineering disciple and/or have relevant experience in Quality management and working to deadlines
- Experience of auditing
- Good communication skills –with the ability to interface at all levels within Spirit and suppliers.
- Experience with Airbus, Boeing, and other OEM products, engineering drawings, and specification requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft pages –Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be an effective member of a team.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience in various manufacturing processes, able to walk processes and effectively verify all key process parameters.
- Able to drive actions autonomously. Tenacity and assertiveness.
- Experience practical problem solving, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
- Knowledge/background in and can articulate materials and process engineering information.
