Our client in the Pharmaceutical Industry is seeking an experienced individual to lead and guide the leadership team towards achieving the company's financial and non-financial targets. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and have a good understanding of its distribution channels across APAC.

Position: General Manager

Territory Coverage: Indonesia

Location-based: Jakarta

Job Summary -

  • Working alongside with the management: -
  • Identifying a new target Agency for distributorship
  • Managing commercial expansion and key customer relationships in public and private sectors e.g. Hospital Authority
  • Recommending a new business development pipeline that is market share and financially in line with strategy
  • Achieving & exceeding Revenue and NPAT target
  • Managing working capital with target
  • Formulating strategies to grow the business of existing principals by adding value and selling our new services.
  • Work with across functions teams.

Core roles and responsibilities: -

Business Development

  • As a key member of the Management team, participate in BD presentations to potential principals and fully demonstrate the company's competitive advantages and market leverage
  • Identifying complementary potential agencies for pitching purposes and linking to service/competency plan / BD.
  • Preparing and formulating strategies for the potential agencies.
  • Working closely with Principals to identify any other VAS for expansion of the collaboration
  • Managing contractual relationships and ensuring compliance & renewal

Management

  • Ensure overheads and expenditures are effectively controlled to within or below budgeted levels and suggest improvements to processes to yield efficiencies and improve returns
  • Tightly control debts and ensure that doubtful debts are well within budgeted levels.
  • Use and report agreed KPIs to maintain optimal performance, take appropriate remedial actions where necessary and continuously strive for greater effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain a competitive team that is customer-oriented (while managing the principal’s expectations) and results-focused (delivering or exceeding APP).
  • Participate in any risk and crisis management by country to assist in resolving issues
  • Recruit and train a performance-based team by enhancing staff competencies (e.g. negotiation, planning, selling, etc)

Principal and Market Relationships

  • Represent and promote the company at a senior level with principals and customers to ensure that relationships are cordial and productive at all times.
  • Maintain a strong network relationship with the customer in related markets including Govt and Private sectors
  • Participate in key Principals meetings and Industry functions to build good relationship

Knowledge and Skills Requirement: -

Academic Qualifications & Training:

  • Master's/bachelor’s degree in science or pharmacy.
  • Experience in Consumer Healthcare, Pharma and Medical Devices business.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs is required.
  • Agile, highly adaptable, and financially driven.
  • English language essential (spoken and written).
  • Customer-focused and Results-oriented.
