Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Java Developer at Softenger's Kuala Lumpur City location. The Java Developer will be responsible for software development, microservices, programming, and utilizing the Spring Framework to create innovative solutions and applications.
Position: Java Developer
Max Salary:
- Expat candidate currently based in Malaysia: RM 10,500 per month;
- Local : RM 9,500 per month;
Can process either Malaysians or Expats/DP’s based in Malaysia or outside of Malaysia.

- Responsible for building and maintain Java applications for Insurance System, include managing Java EE/Spring Boot framework application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to solution, development and testing. Commitment to collaborative problem solving, translate business function/requirement into technical design and product quality are essential.
Job Description
- Translate application design and use cases into functional applications'
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable application coding.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and propose solutions to resolve these problems.
- Prepare and produce releases of software components.
- Provide support for SIT/UAT and production support.
- Prepare and maintain documentation as appropriate requirements.
- Perform system health check after infra, DB and network patching activity.
- Investigate and provide solution for issues and incidents detected in testing or production environment and able to provide root-cause and preventive measure
Qualifications & Desirable Traits/Experience
- Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience developing & maintaining web applications using Java technology
- Have good knowledge in writing DB SQL scrips like Oracle DB and MYSQL
- Extensive knowledge in web services like SOAP and REST.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, creative & able to work based on abstract concepts.
- Experience in insurance industry & exposure to packaged insurance products are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in web application development using Java technology such as Apache Tomcat, Spring Boot, Thymeleaf, Bootstrap, & JQuery Have knowledge to understand application develop in JAVA GUI, ASP or VB script and able to work independently to transform legacy systems to latest framework with using java.
- Hands on experience in development and deployment cloud application (PAAS/TAS) with using CI/CD will be our priority.
