Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Paralegal, based in Malaysia, to join our dynamic international consulting and corporate secretarial team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional legal research, corporate secretarial, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills. They should be able to demonstrate a keen understanding of social media platforms and digital strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Secretarial:
  • Support in handling corporate secretarial duties.
  • Legal Research and Writing:
  • Conduct in-depth legal research using various resources, including LexisNexis, and other legal databases.
  • Prepare legal memoranda, summaries, and briefs to support our team in case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports with minimal supervision.
  • Matter Management:
  • Assist in managing matters, including drafting and filing legal documents such as case submissions.
  • Coordinate and manage deadlines, ensuring timely filings and compliance with applicable rules.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Assist in updating draft agreements, following from negotiations.
  • Organize and maintain transaction bible.
  • Social Media Management
  • Assist in managing the company’s social media presence, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Website.
  • Develop content strategies to raise brand awareness and enhance client engagement.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and schedule interviews.
  • Prepare and organize materials for client meetings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including calendar management, scheduling, and coordinating meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, English, or a related field.
  • Paralegal certification from a recognized institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a paralegal, with significant experience in arbitration and corporate matters.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of legal terminology.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software (e.g., CLJ Law, LexisNexis).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management software.
  • Experience with electronic filing systems and document management software.
  • Experience with social media management tools and strategies.
