Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Health & Safety Officer to join our team. They will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees to promote awareness of safety procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide comprehensive reports including recommendations for preventive actions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and standards, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incident reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills and exercises.
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the organization by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and fostering open communication regarding safety concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a safety role is advantageous, but not required for entry-level positions.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
