The main purpose of the Internal Communications Intern is to support the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) within the Research and Development Department in development and execution of internal communication strategies that enhance the efficiency of R&D processes and improve Developer Experience within R&D.

This role involves assisting in crafting clear and engaging communication materials, coordinating internal messaging, and ensuring that key initiatives and changes are effectively communicated to all stakeholders. Additionally, the intern will help track communication effectiveness and gather feedback to support continuous improvement in internal communication practices.

Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Assist in crafting clear and engaging communication materials to inform R&D teams about LACE initiatives, process improvements, and new practices or tools.
  • Messaging Coordination: Coordinate internal messaging to ensure consistent and effective communication of key initiatives and changes within the R&D department.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between LACE and R&D stakeholders, ensuring their needs and feedback are addressed.
  • Communication Effectiveness Tracking: Help track the effectiveness of internal communications and gather feedback to support continuous improvement in communication practices.
  • Event Support: Assist in organizing and executing internal events, workshops, and meetings to promote LACE initiatives and enhance collaboration within the R&D department.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of communication activities and prepare reports to monitor progress and outcomes of communication strategies.


Requirements

  • Level of Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Coaching or a related field.
  • Able to commit a minimum duration of four (4) months full-time internship.
  • Years of Experience: No prior professional communications experience required; entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or those with internship experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Loom, Atlassian Suite - optional)
  • Basic knowledge of internal communication strategies and tools.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for creating clear and engaging content.
  • Experience in change management communications or coaching.


GOOD TO HAVE

  • Preferred Industry Experience: Experience in the change management communications or leadership coaching, especially within an Agile or Lean environment, would be advantageous.
  • Specific Skill within a Specific Industry/Domain/Area: Familiarity with AI tools and their application in enhancing developer experience and communication practices would be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in video design tools such as Loom, YouTube for creating visually appealing communication materials.
  • Experience with intranet platforms and internal communication tools like Google Suite, or similar.
  • Ability to create and edit video content for internal communications.
  • Multilingual capabilities or experience working in a multicultural environment would be a plus.
