Job Description:

Position: Level 2 Network Engineer

We are seeking a LAN Network Engineer to develop and maintain a functional and secure network for Maybank Malaysia and its regional branches. You will lead a team of L1 network engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our networks for users. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. Your goal will be to establish networks that meet Maybank’s needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN and WLAN) involving data centers, campus offices, etc., using Cisco Nexus and ACI technologies.
  • Configure and install Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco WLC, and other Cisco network devices, including routing via VMware NSX products.
  • Monitor and administer network health checks, performance, and integrity (BAU), which may include weekends if needed.
  • Resolve BAU operational issues within the agreed timeframe.
  • Mentor L1 team members on technical issues.
  • Communicate with users when needed.
  • Maintain complete technical documentation.
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, automation, capacity, and scalability.
  • Perform 24x7 standby (on rotation) and participate in resolving Sev1 incidents.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of related working experience with Cisco ACI and/or Cisco Nexus Switches (e.g., OTV, VPC, VDC).
  • Relevant experience: 5+ years.
  • Mandatory skills: Cisco ACI, Wireshark, and Wireless.
  • Professional certification (minimum CCNP Routing & Switching or Datacenter or equivalent). CCIE will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of Wireshark.
  • Proficiency in Cisco Nexus Command Lines and Debug outputs, as this will be extensively tested during the technical interview.
  • Experience working in a Vendor/Principal/Banking environment, currently or in the past.
