Key Objective

  • The position is responsible for assisting the P&C Underwriting Lead in the overall management and underwriting function of the P&C Renewal portfolio within the Underwriting Centre (UC).

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Targets – Ensure renewal review completed within the timeline set and achieve retention performance / underwriting targets and overall underwriting profitability
  • Portfolio Management – Assess and manage the account portfolio performance on underwriting referrals. This includes system enhancements support to Line of Business to perform UAT as and when required
  • Relationship Building – Work closely with all stakeholders through frequent communication and teamwork including distribution channels and line of business in achieving the strategic goal and plan for the year.
  • Service Standard – Ensure service standard level agreed with distribution channels and line of business are met (including renewal re-quote and enquiry related to renewals )
  • Reporting – Complete all UC reports on timely basis for internal and external and ensure the accuracy of data of the reports and statistics as and when required.
  • Compliance – Ensure full compliance of internal and external Guidelines including Legal and Compliance, Risk Management Enterprise , BNM and PIAM.
  • Personal Development – Identify and discuss with Team Lead on the training needs for career enhancement and agreed on the goal and target set for the year
  • Any other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Good knowledge of Commercial Lines business in terms of underwriting and business strategies driving the business
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and networking
  • Result oriented and possess strong analytical skills
  • Computer literate especially MS Office
  • Good grasp of policy wordings

Experience

  • More than 5 years relevant experience in the class of business

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in any discipline, preferably diploma/Associate in Insurance qualifications (ACII/AMII)
