Ansell is looking for Utility Engineer to be based in Melaka.

This position is responsible for the design, analysis, and maintenance of utility systems, including Air Handling Units (AHU), Boiler, Chiller, Compressor, Cooling Tower and gas services. This role involves developing and implementing engineering solutions to optimize utility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing projects to improve system efficiency and reliability.

What your role will be in details?

You will be:

  • Develop designs and specifications for utility equipment and infrastructure projects, including pipelines, electronics, electrical grids, and other related systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and system analyses to evaluate the performance and capacity of existing utility systems.
  • Use engineering software and tools to model and simulate utility systems and predict performance under various conditions.
  • Manage utility projects from conception through to completion, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project, service maintenance or repairs objectives are met.
  • Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure utility systems and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permits, and documentation as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and address any issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and efficiency of utility systems.
  • Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to other departments and stakeholders on utility-related issues.
  • Offer recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, and enhancements based on analysis and best practices.
  • Stay current with advancements in utility engineering and technology.
  • Conduct research to develop innovative solutions and improve existing utility systems.
  • Participate in professional development and industry conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering designs, project progress, and system performance.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with utility operations, including lifting and carrying equipment.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces.
  • Work hours may include occasional evenings or weekends depending on project needs and deadlines.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management and be available “on-call” for emergencies.

What you will bring?

  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, GIS).
