About The Job
- Lead and manage the legal department, providing strategic legal advice to the board and senior management.
- Assess legal risks related to operations and strategic decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.
- Develop and implement compliance risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Provide legal support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements to protect the organisation's interests.
- Advise on the development of policies to promote good corporate governance and compliance.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee corporate secretarial functions, including board meetings, minutes, and statutory filings.
- Effectively manage resources within the Legal & Corporate Services Department.
- Law degree with ideally more than 15 years of experience in notable legal firm or as in-house counsel in a technology-driven company.
- Proficient in structuring and negotiating international commercial, corporate, and partnership agreements in the IT sector; familiarity with corporate regulations, government bodies and intellectual property law is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with strong planning, organisational, and negotiation abilities.
- Proactive in solving complex legal issues, even in the absence of precedents.
- Capable of delivering practical solutions under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong drafting skills.
- High integrity and confidentiality, with effective interpersonal and management skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
