About The Job

  • Lead and manage the legal department, providing strategic legal advice to the board and senior management.
  • Assess legal risks related to operations and strategic decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.
  • Develop and implement compliance risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Provide legal support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements to protect the organisation's interests.
  • Advise on the development of policies to promote good corporate governance and compliance.
  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee corporate secretarial functions, including board meetings, minutes, and statutory filings.
  • Effectively manage resources within the Legal & Corporate Services Department.

About The Requirements

  • Law degree with ideally more than 15 years of experience in notable legal firm or as in-house counsel in a technology-driven company.
  • Proficient in structuring and negotiating international commercial, corporate, and partnership agreements in the IT sector; familiarity with corporate regulations, government bodies and intellectual property law is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong planning, organisational, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proactive in solving complex legal issues, even in the absence of precedents.
  • Capable of delivering practical solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong drafting skills.
  • High integrity and confidentiality, with effective interpersonal and management skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
