Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet requests from Institutional sales teams and clients, and provide strong research support to Group Wholesale Banking, Group Treasury and Group Investment Banking revenue pillars.
  • Accompany the Head, Foreign Exchange Strategy and/or Strategists in marketing roadshows and other client servicing efforts in the home country as well as overseas markets, as assigned.
  • The Foreign Exchange Strategist, may be given an enlarged role with additional responsibilities to coach and mentor junior analysts and associates (management associates or interns) on foreign exchange ideation and production of foreign exchange strategy reports. These reports will cover research and analysis on currency markets, including majors and emerging market currencies, as well as in-depth analysis of macroeconomic trends, geopolitical events, and central bank policies to provide actionable insights and recommendations to traders, sales teams, and institutional clients.
  • Maintaining and updating the foreign exchange and research database of the FX team in a timely and effective manner. To ensure all reports are updated periodically.
  • All analysts must strengthen relationships and liaise with internal and external clients.
  • Display teamwork to achieve a coherent research product.
  • Work closely with senior management at all times to develop RHB’s foreign exchange research capabilities and visibility
  • Ensure compliance of all legal and regulatory requirements to achieve a high standard of integrity for RHB’s research team and product.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree Economics, Finance, Accounting, etc.
  • 4-6 years of forex research experience in an established financial institution.
  • Strong ability to write and present fluently in English.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Industry experience would be an advantage.
  • Qualitative and quantitative research skills; familiarity with the research process.
