Cancer Research Malaysia is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding and conducting cancer research in Malaysia. The organization is committed to finding new and better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

SUMMARY

The Procurement Senior Officer for Cancer Research Malaysia is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of procurement for the organization's cancer research programs. This includes developing and implementing procurement procedures, negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, and ensuring that all goods and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will bring extensive procurement expertise, particularly in acquiring reagents, lab equipment, and consumables. They should demonstrate proficiency in managing the tender process independently. Prior experience in the laboratory, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement procurement procedures for the organization's cancer research programs
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers
  • Ensure that all goods and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Manage the organization's procurement budget
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers
  • Identify and implement new procurement practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities to the management team members
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Facility & IT, Laboratory and Science Department to meet company needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the laboratory, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Dedicated to work in Non-profit research industry
