Collaborate with mining and mechanical teams to develop project timelines, cost estimates, and resource requirements. Manage installation, upgrades, and expansion projects for electrical and mechanical systems in the mine. Supervise contractors and in-house teams during project execution to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards. 4. Implement safety procedures and provide training for staff on equipment operation and maintenance. Conduct risk assessments to minimize electrical and mechanical hazards within mining operations. 5. Monitor and optimize the use of electrical power in mining operations to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. Plan and manage power distribution systems, generators, and backup power solutions within the mine. 6. Analyze mechanical failures, troubleshoot electrical issues, and provide solutions to minimize downtime. Use diagnostic tools and software to track performance issues and propose improvements. 7. Work closely with geologists, mining engineers, and site managers to align mechanical and electrical systems with operational requirements. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source reliable equipment and spare parts. 8. Primarily based in mining sites, which may be in remote locations. Involves both office-based planning and on-site inspections, repairs, and installations. May require extended hours and shift work due to the nature of the mining industry.
