Senior Geologist

· Management & mentoring of project & junior geologists, field staff & contractors to ensure that the geological function is working efficiently and effectively. · Maintaining the standards of geological data collection process and documenting QAQC procedures. Ensure Quality Control checks has been performed and appropriate actions undertaken to rectify preparation and analysis issues. · Monitor the management, quality and performance of assay laboratories used by site. · Ensure all drill data is suitable, validated and securely retained in the Geological database. · Perform geostatistical evaluations of data in support of geologic domaining, capping, search neighbourhoods and variography. A thorough understanding of variography and its applications are required. · Generate resource models and Estimation according to best industry practice and in a fully transparent and documented manner, taking into account geological models that are constantly being updated by new data. · Regularly liaise with Database Administrator regarding database integrity and supply guidance in developing relevant applications for use onsite. · Developing and maintaining strong relationships within the Technical Services teams particularly with Mine Planning Engineers and Geology Teams and the Database Administrator. · Management and delivery of model schedule to ensure alignment with operational requirements such as diamond drilling, development mapping production and stoping sequences. · Perform model reconciliations to ore control and mine reports. · Make recommendations for additional definition or exploration. · Optimise and advise on resource definition drilling programs to ensure growth of site resources and suitable resource confidence maintained. · Reviewing project areas to identify resource extension opportunities and additional resources. · Assisting with writing of annual resource/ geological reports. · Ensure safe working practices are followed, identifying and managing risks, ensuring all personnel conform with proper safety procedures, ensuring all personnel are familiar with safety procedures, ensuring first aid equipment is appropriate, accessible and current, reporting of safety incidents, and undertaking/ documenting the induction process.
