Position Summary:

As the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will report directly to the Head of Cloud Platform, and work on setting up and maintaining a robust and highly automated cloud infrastructure. You will be part of the team in building from scratch our cloud-native capability, with a focus on optimizing for cost, enabling software developers to develop quickly, with a strong focus on automation and cloud-native cybersecurity practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical hands-on ability work closely with Head of Cloud Platform and other seniors to design and set up the cloud infrastructure to support data science/AI development, software development as well as production environments, with cost, cybersecurity and infrastructure-as-code as key considerations
  2. Working collaboratively with other teams and enabling professional growth and learning
  3. Cloud Infrastructure development build and maintain cloud monitoring and automation solutions to improve daily operations
  4. Develop a self-service model that treats data scientists and software developers as customers and empowers software developers to develop in an agile manner with the right governance guardrails
  5. Implement observability, monitoring and alerts to enable real time monitoring of cloud environments.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a technology expert and practitioner, building and scaling cloud infrastructure with at least 8 years in the software industry.
  • Experience maintaining cloud infrastructure for production use cases with stringent service level standards and where downtime has a material impact on the business.
  • Deep experience with Amazon Web Services(AWS), and ideally Azure, and with infrastructure-as-code technology eg. Terraform and cloud-native tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to approach complex business problems in a structured and logical manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
