Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Power Supply Production Engineer who can assist in the development and validation of server power supply and related products. This individual will be required to work cross-departmentally and support product managers (PM) as needed in product development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the production, testing, and quality assurance of our advanced power supply systems, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of power supply units (PSUs) from initial design through to final assembly.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new power supply products.
  • Assist product managers in the product development process, providing technical insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement production processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct testing and validation of power supply units to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Analyze production data and troubleshoot PCBA quality issues, ensuring adherence to IPC-A-610 electronic manufacturing standards.
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to maintain high standards and address any non-conformities.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on power supply technologies and assembly techniques.
  • Assist in the development of documentation for manufacturing processes, including work instructions and training materials.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in power supply design or production engineering, preferably in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of power supply topologies, components, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Have power supply production experience, which will be a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
