Job Purpose
- Responsible for ensuring the leading, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
- Play an important role in the overall success of the organization's projects.
Key Accountabilities
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather project requirements and expectations.
- Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Resource Management:
- Work closely with resource managers to allocate and manage project resources effectively.
- Identify and address resource constraints, ensuring optimal utilization and productivity.
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify and assess project risks, developing risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Proactively address issues to prevent potential project delays.
- Ensure that risk management practices are integrated into the project lifecycle.
Financial Management:
- Oversee project budgets and financial forecasting.
- Ensure financial accountability and cost-effectiveness in project execution.
Change Management:
- Drive and support organizational change initiatives.
- Develop and implement change management plan for all projects.
Working Relationship
Internal
Executive Leadership/ SteerCo Members – To align project management strategies with overall business objectives and secure executive support for projects.
Directors/ Division Heads – To understand the specific needs and priorities of different divisions, align projects with organization’s strategic pillars, and facilitate communication between other divisions.
Cross-functional Working Teams/ Workstream Leads & Members/ Stakeholders/ End Users – To gather project requirements, ensure that project outcomes meet stakeholder expectations, and address concerns or feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
External
Vendors/ Suppliers – To manage contracts, ensure vendor performance, and coordinate the delivery of external services or products.Consultants – To leverage external expertise for specific aspects of project management, such as specialized technical knowledge.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, IT-related field or equivalent.
- Professional certification(s), a globally recognized certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI), e.g., PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, CSM or ACP.
- 8 years of experience managing complex projects.
- Prior exposure in telecommunication industry is an added advantage.
Skills & Knowledge
Project Management – Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Leadership and Team Management – Coaching qualities at all levels and the ability to effectively manage and lead multiple project teams.
Communication Skills – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Stakeholder Management – Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
