Job Purpose

  • Assist Acting Head, Business Strategy & Market Intelligence on formulation of the Group’s strategy and high-level action plans to achieve strategic objectives
  • Drive / oversee delivery of cross-functional and cross-footprint strategic initiatives
  • Monitor EDOTCO Group’s performance against competitors and recommend improvement areas
  • Responsible for periodic analytics and strategic studies / research
  • Lead Groupwide Strategic Planning/Events and provide strategic support to CEO’s office

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist Acting Head, Business Strategy & Market Intelligence in developing EDOTCO’s Group strategy and high-level plans to achieve strategic objectives
  • Responsible in developing perspectives on new market opportunities (e.g. new product categories, high-potential channels, emerging markets), including sizing and assessing markets, identifying the risks/benefits of opportunities, etc.
  • Responsible for supporting the business planning process and long-range plan development
  • Define KPI for EDOTCO Group and the NTCs
  • Evaluate EDOTCO Group against industry players and identify improvement areas
  • Assess business context and suitability of current strategy (consumers, categories, channels, regions, competitors) to identify areas for improvement, including driving collaborations with relevant functions and countries, where applicable.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive environment and anticipated competitor moves
  • Conduct research and analysis on consumer behavior/segmentation/churn and competitor’s product and pricing strategy
  • Provide analysis and research information pertaining to technology, regulatory and market forecast regionally
  • Produce periodic analytics/related reports to generate insights and guide senior management’s decision-making
  • Assist in leading strategic initiatives across the Group, including Digitalization, Business Intelligence, Analytics and others

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (BA, BSc) in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Psychology, Business Economics, Mathematics, Econometrics or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of strategy, business development, business analysis skills and experience
  • Other related qualifications such as master’s degree, Master of Business Administration, Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Advisor, etc. would be an added advantage
  • Experience working in foreign environments and consultancy experience an advantage
  • Experience within Strategy function within telecommunication or towerco operator industry, ICT or any other service industry is an added advantage.
  • Possess strategic mindset, with clear and crisp articulation of thought
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills: a. Ability to synthesize large amounts of complex data into meaningful conclusions b. Ability to structure documents (e.g., PowerPoint presentations) to effectively communicate with senior management c. Very strong written, oral, and presentation-based communication skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other related software tools for running business models, plans, analysis, scenario analysis etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities in a real-time environment.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule
  • Strong team-player with good inter-personal skills
  • Fluency in English
