Role Summary:

As an experienced Metallurgist, you provide expert advice, support, and recommendations on technical and quality procedures and processes. With your expertise, you will enhance the manufacturing cost base through advancements in metallurgy, engineering improvements, and system optimizations.

Demonstrating leadership and expertise, you oversee the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous review of the Quality Management System.

With keen attention to detail, you will prepare and compile material test certificates and other inspection documents as required by customers. Your collaborative approach with the Technical and Production teams ensures informed decision-making regarding the acceptance of quality requirements at every inspection stage, and analyses of non-conformities.

You will be responsible for conducting failure investigations as directed by the Technical Manager and preparing detailed reports for submission. You will actively assess material selection and provide recommendations for improvements as needed. Your diligence is evident in your commitment to maintaining test equipment in an accurate, calibrated state

Key Criteria

  • Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science
  • 5+ years experience in the foundry industry, preferably in sand moulding systems
  • Proficiency in preparing technical reports, work procedures, and team development
  • Experience managing people and performance.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and organize tasks to meet deadlines

This role will be based in Merlimau.
