FINANCE MANAGER

Boutique Management Consulting Firm in Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (GL), cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Continuously improve financial processes within the accounting system by exploring and implementing new tools or systems for project management and time-tracking to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely weekly and monthly reporting via dashboards.
  • Enhance financial processes, optimize reporting, and refine the planning and control cycle. Input will be critical in streamlining operations and driving operational excellence.
  • Lead the preparation and planning of annual accounts, including the execution of annual audits and interim reviews. Responsible for ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial reporting.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Europe team (HQ), providing updates on reporting, audits, taxes, and other finance-related tasks. Effective communication with international teams is essential.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to the Managing Directors, advising on key decisions that impact the business. Advice will be valued for its clarity, precision, and actionable nature.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a broad role in finance and accounting. Experience with an auditing firm is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software, and a keen eye for process improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. You should be able to provide clear, concise advice to the leadership team and work seamlessly with our international office.
  • A self-starter who is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable in a hands-on role working for a small-sized company (20-25 employees)
  • You should be someone who thrives in a collaborative, feedback-oriented environment.
