Role Overview:

The Senior Backup Engineer L3 should have 8 to 9 years of hands-on experience with one of the backup technologies (Veritas and Veeam).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Essential Experience: Setting up Disk Appliances such as Veritas Appliances, Data Domain, Exagrid, and NetBackup & Veeam (media and master, proxies).
  • Utilizing Veritas NetBackup IT Analytics and Veeam One.
  • Managing multi-petabyte backup infrastructure. Experience in migrating backup infrastructure is a plus.
  • Handling Disk Appliances (Veritas Appliances, Data Domain, Exagrid).
  • Managing Tapes and related procedures.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of backup processes and procedures. Ability to define SOPs and create technical documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with presentation skills. Must have experience in collaboration and project management.
  • Knowledge of database technologies (Oracle, SQL, Sybase, IBM DB2) and replication technologies for databases.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work under pressure with minimal guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to support daily operations and reduce frequent backup failures.
  • Additional Experience (Preferred):Experience with tapeless technologies like Dell ECS, Hitachi HCP, and Cohesity.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies such as EMC and Pure Storage, Zerto, and EMC RecoverPoint.
  • Familiarity with storage replication technologies.
  • Ability to work closely with Lead/Head, DPS to deliver critical projects.

This role requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to the stability and efficiency of our backup infrastructure.
