Position Title: Assistant Manager - Compliance Review, Monitoring & Shariah Review

Department: Group Compliance, KIB

Job Description:

1. Compliance Review Programme:

  • Assist the Team Leader (TL) and Group Chief Compliance Officer (GCCO) in developing and implementing compliance review programmes, including the Shariah review programme.
  • Evaluate the Bank's compliance review program based on industry best practices and evolving regulatory expectations.
  • Assist in developing compliance testing and monitoring plans to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and processes.

2. Compliance Review Monitoring and Testing:

  • Collaborate with the TL and GCCO to identify key compliance risks and weaknesses, recommending enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and assessments of the Bank's activities, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assess and review the adequacy of Shariah compliance within the Bank.
  • Perform regular testing and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance and identify emerging compliance issues.

3. Compliance Reporting:

  • Prepare reports summarising findings from compliance reviews, including identified issues, recommended actions, and management responses.
  • Provide regular updates to the TL, GCCO, and relevant stakeholders regarding the status and progress of compliance reviews.

4. Compliance Training and Awareness:

  • Prepare, conduct, or arrange relevant compliance training for Bank employees as needed.

5. Others:

  • Correspond with internal stakeholders on compliance and Shariah compliance issues.
  • Perform miscellaneous or ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned by the TL and GCCO.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in related areas.
  • Education: Degree in any relevant field.
  • Skills:
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in financial institutions, particularly in Islamic or Shariah reviews, will be an added advantage.
  • Completion of relevant compliance papers (e.g., SIDC/AICB).
  • Inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Good writing skills with the ability to articulate issues clearly.
