As a member of Asia Business Planning and Analysis team, the Data Scientist is responsible to work alongside the Business, Planning, and Analysis department within the Global Non-Production Purchasing Department at Lear, collaborating globally with cross-functional purchasing business units in Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa, and America. Based at UOA Business Park, Shah Alam, this role reports to the Director in Europe.

The Role

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop data science solutions, including algorithms through Palantir Foundry.
  • Support team efforts in leveraging pre-defined Machine Learning models to address procurement challenges such as autonomous sourcing.
  • Participate actively in Palantir Foundry knowledge sharing sessions during office hours and collaborate.
  • Engage in data cleaning and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
  • Assist in data ingestion and optimize data architecture.
  • Automate processes within the Non-Production Purchasing department.
  • Identify and explore new and novel data sources, both internally and externally.
  • Support teams in gaining experience and knowledge in data usage, and promote a data-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or any STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in statistical, econometric, or engineering analysis, large-scale optimizations, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining and processing, and SQL.
  • Proficient in Python, machine learning, and modeling.
  • Experience in data architecture and relational databases, such as Snowflake and SQL Server.
  • Enthusiasm for working with large datasets with high work accuracy.
  • Willing to work with international team.
  • Selected candidates will need to go through Palantir Foundry Certification training. (Can be done online).
  • Results-oriented with a growth mindset and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate analysis and results effectively.
