Head of Department - Retail

Key Responsibilities: 1.Leadership and Team Management- Lead, motivate, and manage department staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and individual growth. Set clear expectations and provide guidance to ensure the team meets departmental objectives. 2.Sales and Profitability - Develop and implement sales strategies and goals for the department. Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and make necessary adjustments to achieve targets. Control department expenses and inventory levels to optimize profitability. 3.Customer Service - Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained within the department. Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and effectively. Train staff on providing excellent customer service and product knowledge. 4.Inventory Management - Manage departmental inventory, including ordering, receiving, and monitoring stock levels. Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and ensure accurate stock counts. Collaborate with merchandising teams to plan and execute promotions and displays. 5.Compliance and Safety - Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety procedures. Address any compliance or safety issues promptly. 6. Reporting and Analysis - Prepare and present reports on department performance, including sales, expenses, and inventory. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with senior management on budgeting and forecasting. 7. Vendor Relations - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts to secure favorable terms for the department. Evaluate and select new suppliers as needed.
