Pharmacy Assistant

Objectives Prepare and dispense drugs to client. Verify medications prepared according to prescriptions in a timely manner. Interact with clients in delivering medications and completing other sales transactions. Receives, records, and stores medications brought into the pharmacy. Maintains stock of prescription medications and informs senior pharmacist of inventory needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Organizes medications to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; formulate extemporaneous preparation based on doctor’s preference. • Ensure that the right medication is given to the client according to the prescription by doctors; refer doctors in charge if there is any inaccuracy in the dosage or medicine given. • Ensure that all the information said verbally or written on the chart is recorded in the hospital database system and generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges. • Attend enquiries on the medication by walk-in clients or through phone and advice clients accordingly. • Record the usage of controlled drug in the book. • Ensure the drugs to be stored under appropriate storage to ensure the potency of drugs are maintained and the temperature should be checked and recorded twice a day. • Ensures medication availability by preparing and delivering medications to surgery department and branch. • Supplies patients with information and education on their prescriptions. • Liaises with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription information. • Find and place orders for additional drugs as directed by the doctor. • Maintains electronic patient information. • Prepares billing information for medications • Complete patients' sales transactions for purchase of prescription and over-the-counter medications as well as other pharmaceutical products • Ensure all drugs transferring done correctly in the data system works database system based on the handovers from stock control, AMC and kennel. • Ensure Recording of Poison drugs are maintained and upkeep according to Pharmacy protocol. Also you need to ensure Vet signed the request form before you filled the request form. • Ensure stock count in book and physical are tally • You are required to work according to the daily checklist which will be monitor by your senior. General Duties • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. • Follows all Hospital protocols and practices • Perform work according to established methods • Ensure compliance with company practice, policies and procedures • Adhere to practice the existing hospital policies and procedures for dispensing medications. • Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and answering quiries and requests over the phone; refer inquiries to the pharmacist personnel. • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the pharmacy by complying Phamacy board procedures, rules, and regulations. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Performs administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, and restocking inventory. • Participates in medical talks organized by AMC or drug companies to enhance knowledge on the medical field. • Be prepared to cover the work in absence of other team members. • Adhere to practice the existing hospital policies and procedures for dispensing medications. • Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist. • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Performs administrative duties, including answering phones, receiving and inputting prescription orders, and restocking inventory. • Participates in medical talks organized by AMC or drug companies to enhance knowledge on the medical field.
