Job Description:-

  • Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
  • Probation Period: 6 months

Job Responsibilities:-

  • finding potential problems or opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and identifying patterns within that data.
  • ensuring that the plant’s equipment operates at optimal levels and meet the needs of the organization.
  • identifying problems related to the reliability of systems and equipment and developing solutions for potential equipment issues before they occur.
  • analyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends.
  • conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems.
  • developing and implementing solutions to prevent repeated issues, ultimately improving the reliability of systems, equipment, and processes.
  • developing and implementing new maintenance procedures to improve the reliability of equipment.
  • finding new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • developing and implementing training programs for employees with regard to reliability.
  • developing and implementing the production system and its tools and methods, including 6S, etc.
  • management of the initiative proposals / improvement ideas including collections, evaluation, implementation, etc.
  • collaborating with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • the main goal is to increase the overall uptime and availability of systems and equipment, and to reduce the number of failures and downtime.
  • A reliability engineer also supports the planning, scheduling and implementation of all mechanical maintenance works, including annual plant shutdown activities in close coordination with other departments’ managers.
  • A reliability engineer prepares the evaluation of yearly costs for the most critical machines, work out a budget and cost controlling for important maintenance items. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring purchasing of equipment and spare parts.
  • A reliability engineer ensures all maintenance documentation is issued according to ISO requirements.
  • A reliability engineer takes care of the ERP or CMMS or other maintenance software utilization by ensuring users are knowledgeable and disciplined enough to use the software properly.
  • A reliability engineer performs other maintenance related tasks as assigned by his superior.

Requirements:-

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant’s reliability / maintenance / mechanical engineering in chemical or petrochemical production plants
  • Analytical thinking: the ability to think critically and logically, as well as the ability to work with large sets of data and make sense of them.
  • Technical attitude: a strong understanding of the systems, equipment, and processes at hand. This includes knowledge of the engineering principles and specific systems used at an organization.
  • Problem-solving: the ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Communication: the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Project management: the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively including planning, scheduling, and organizing.
  • Data management skills: the ability to use statistical analysis tools (Minitab, etc.) as well as the ability to interpret and communicate the results of the analysis.
  • A continuous improvement mindset: identifying and implementing ways to continuously improve reliability.
  • Safety-conscious: the ability to identify potential hazards and take the necessary steps to mitigate them.
  • Knowledgeable on maintenance methodologies such as the TPM, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of an industrial plant’s mechanical system from static and dynamic equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels, piping, other plant machinery and pressurized vessels to building structures, pipe racks and fire-fighting facilities.
  • Familiar with most mechanical engineering standards such as MS, API, ASME, DIN, BS etc.
  • Familiar and knowledgeable with local regulations (DOSH) with regards to the design, installation, test, operation and maintenance of registered equipment such as fired and unfired pressure vessels, hoists, etc..
  • Knowledgeable on regulations and directives on safety of designing, selecting, installing, operating and maintaining any mechanical installations in chemical processing plant.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and OSHA PSM.
  • Familiar and experienced in ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 45001 (especially the Management of Change procedure). IATF 16949 is an advantage.
  • Ability to read, draw or sketch, illustrate and interpret technical drawings such as the P&ID’ machinery components and schematics.
  • Advanced PC user with a good knowledge of the office software. A good knowledge of the technical software such as AutoCAD and the statistical software such as Minitab is an advantage.
  • Superior verbal and written English communication skills, especially of the technical terms.
  • Ability to function independently in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Previous personnel management experience is preferred
