JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare and review FULL SET of statutory financial accounts of the Company and the Group in accordance with general acceptable accounting practices, guidelines, policies, accounting standards and MFRS statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and review of the Company and the Group management reports, including the consolidated notes to the financial statements, key financial indicators, variance analysis and other corporate reports to provide accurate key financial, statistical information and management information for decision makings.
  • Prepare and review of budget, rolling plan, variance analysis, included maintaining and monitoring budget template, preparation of financial forecast and projections of financial statements including cash flow for monthly, quarterly, yearly, and as and when required including liaising with the relevant department within the Group.
  • Review and to ensure month-end and year end closing activities including journal entries, general ledger and subledger maintenance, fixed asset register, inter-co reconciliations, balance sheet review and overhead cost allocations are done accordance to reporting standard and within the stipulated timeline with excellence accuracy without any potential of major adjustment.
  • To manage and oversee the daily activities of the department and ensuring that all day to day financial and accounting operations for payables, receivables, general ledgers, month end/year end close, accruals, provisions, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, reconciliations, assets, inventory are completed accurately and on time.
  • Be a subject matter expert on GL and other Finance processes, help identifying, analysing, and recommending solutions for issues that arise.
  • Monitor and update any GL creations, Group chart of accounts including liaising with SAP team as and when required.
  • Liaising with SAP team, Procurement and Finance team for development of finance systems.
  • Review the monthly reconciliations and schedules prepared by subordinates for the Company.
  • Review the monthly reconciliations and schedules.
  • Review intercompany transactions and intercompany matrix to ensure transactions are recorded on timely manner and are reconciled timely.
  • Review transactions and documentations for the Company to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee and monitor the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency and internal control of the finance and related functions.
  • Liaising, coordinate with all subsidiaries for Group immediate holding company queries in regard to budget, management, financial reports and any other finance matters.
  • Liaising with external/Internal auditors, company secretary, regulatory authorities, and other parties to ensure compliance with all matters relating to audit, tax and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare audit related schedules and respond to auditors’ queries.
  • Finance to ensure the smooth running of daily accounting operations, meet statutory and management deadlines.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc assignments by management or reporting head as and when required.
  • Establish good working relationship with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ensure and verify the financial data on accuracy and compliance to accounting policies and procedures.
  • To assist Head of Group Finance in preparation of board papers, evaluating, developing, and improving department controls and integrity, systems, procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency and supervise and provide support to subordinate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must possess at least a Degree/ Advanced Diploma/Skill Certificate Level five (5) or Diploma /Skill certificate Level four (4) in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or a Professional Qualification (Preferable a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants-MIA).
  • At least 10 year(s)of working experience in the related field is required.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Ability to lead, inspire, coach, and develop the group of finance and accounts department.

  • Self-motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done.
  • Excellent organizational skills with good end-to-end project.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Advanced capability) and any financial system.
  • Proficient knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
