Position Summary:

This position is a new role and serve as Sensei for business units, locations or functions providing expert coaching, teaching, and implementation skills to deepen Watlow’s Continuous Improvement (CI) expertise in CI tools, techniques and beliefs. Leads the development of CI capabilities, capacity, and the organizational initiatives to achieve an improved condition that aligns to the True North metrics or Watlow Way. Steward of the Watlow Business System (WBS). Key partner in achieving strategy deployment objectives, true north, and breakthrough results.

  • Recommends ways to integrate CI services with organizational initiatives.
  • Evaluates and enables WBS transformation.
  • Global integration (Regional).

  • Defines measurements and correlates the relevance to business/ organizational success.
  • Identifies and pursues changes and trends in processes, and requirements.
  • Leads organizational initiatives to achieve best practice, financial results or LEAN objectives.

Services:

  • Ensures specific planning units, locations or functions are adhering to the Watlow Business System (WBS) standards.
  • Establishes vertical and horizontal alignment with strategy deployment objectives within specific planning units, locations or functions.
  • Stays ahead of lean methodologies and techniques while transferring that learning throughout specific planning units, locations or functions.
  • Expert in knowledge transfer.

Delivery:

  • Works with, influences, and challenges Directors, Managers, PTL’s, and on occasion VP’s and other executive team members in the areas of flow, value creation, identification of waste, etc.
  • Trains, Deploys and practices use of various tools and techniques to achieve program improvements within specific planning units, locations or functions.
  • Provides planning unit, location or functional coaching, mentoring, teaching, and implementation skills in support of business goals.
  • Mentors and coaches Directors and OML’s in the development of A3’s (strategic, mission, activity, etc.)
  • Gives input into the Watlow Business System (WBS) strategy while influencing the organization for compliance.

Business Partner:

  • Speaks on the WBS internally as well as externally at other businesses and/or conferences.
  • Serves as Sensei by supporting and facilitating strategy deployment development and reviews, cultural transformation, creation of value stream analysis, mission control and other key strategic activities for specific planning units, locations or functions.
  • Collaborates with others to achieve strategy deployment, true north and business results.
  • Participates and/or links to the enterprise CI Team.

Center of Expertise (COE):

  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) with in the advanced level CI tools and techniques such as: 2P, 3P, strategy deployment, vertical value stream, Transformation Plan of Care (TPOC), etc.
  • Program management/ mentorship.
  • Watlow Business System View.
  • Lean Product Development (LPD) Tools and System.
  • Agile where appropriate.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or enrolled in a continuing education program.
  • Technical certification preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Leadership training.
  • 7-10 years of lean leadership experience preferred.

Additional Information Regarding Position:

  • Some travel may be required to meet business needs.
  • Required to work fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a hands-on LEAN personnel.
  • Good in applying and practising the LEAN tools.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Must be willing to work at Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia.
